I have been researching various propellers for my Aeropro and one thing I ran across is the issue of Rotax gear box limitations regarding "inertial mass allowable" it was stated that some props exceed this limit by a large # such as Warp Drive and IVO, this is new to me but makes sense. Does anybody know the Rotax "inertial mass limit" on a 912 ULS with the 2.43/1 gear box?
Mike
Thanks...appreciate the info...it will help in selecting a prop. Interestingly enough I have found prop manufacturers who are not aware of this limitation.

So long as you don't use a Warp Drive prop over 68" and stay away from the Warp Drive with a nickel edge most any prop will work. Once installed and you get the pitch set then I would recommend a dynamic prop balance.

I realize this is an older thread but wanted to know if what I have read about putting a long prop on the 912 is an issue.
I recently purchased a3 blade 75" Whirlwind STOL prop to replace the 70" Whirlwind I had on the plane. My engine is an older 80 HP that has the Zipper 105 HP cylinders and pistons installed. I gearbox ratio is 2:27 If I remember correctly. My question is in regards to seeing apost about having the gearbox checked and possibly the 'lash' (?) set up to slightly tigher specs due to the longer prop.
Anyone know anything about this?
