Rotax 277 Time to call in the tropes

ok guys and ladies I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET,I got a Rotax 277 26 HP was working ok, I did about 5-6 hours on it since I bought it with a SCat hovercraft um day after 2 hours of hovering and just before I put it on the trailer it stop I could get it going since, when I got home check for spark on plug it look like it didn't have spark but it was a really sunny day I couldn't tell for sure but I change spark plug before I had a BR9ES with nice brownish color but I change it to a B8ES change plug cap to NGK no resistor, change ignition coil, CDI box, on/off switch ( didn't want to take any chances ), check and clean Bing 54 Carb., so after all this check for spark got good Spark, plug gets a bit of gas but lots in between the carb and motor so I figure that the carb is working ok, it doesn't have damping box that was going to be my next step try to look at the piston from the muffler side but could really tell anything, does anyone have any thoughts on this , should I buy the special tools to take motor apart or just take it to a mechanic now I know of a good one close to me, thanks everyone LUI

    Luis,

    Since you have spark, It probably is fuel. Carefully pull the fuel bowl off the carb without spilling any fuel from the bowl. Lift out the floats and measure the fuel level in the bowl. It should be 13mm down from the lip of the bowl. If the fuel level in the bowl is low, you could have a bad fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter, or a clogged float valve. If the level is too high, it could be a leaking float valve.

    Drop the floats back in the bowl. They should float with the float pins just touching the fuel.

    Empty the bowl and put it back on the carb, crank the engine 15-20 seconds and remove the bowl again and see if it has refilled to the proper level.

    If you have any fuel coming out of the overflow tube, that also would indicate a leaking float valve.

    Yes i did all of that before all levels OK put float back in bowl after 1 hour out 1 hour later they wore at same level

    I haven't to much ti to work on it
    but I bought a compression gauge today
    so that's my next step

    so I did the compression test
    it was good 130 psi
    so Im going back to fuel/carb
    I read today that the level on bowl
    (not on your replay) should be 13mm without
    the floats my was 13mm with float, 16 mm w/o
    floats. I notice when I clean the fuel pump
    was a small fuel lick @ one end, going to buy better
    clips for fuel hoses. read that the hoses from motor
    to pump shouln't be more that 11" and a strong hose
    I got 10.5" but useing clear blue fuel hose I'll be changing that
    And trying to get less hose
