Suitable Starting Battery

I am looking for a small, ultralight battery suitable for my ROTAX912 UL.

Hi I have used a Panasonic 12v 17 amp hour sealed battery with out any problems for many year's

Try an Odyssey battery. They are small, light and powerful.

Hi Jan,

I agree an Odyssey battery is a good way to go. It's a sealed mil spec battery.

Thanks for your responses.

I did some research and found the Super B 5200 Lithium Iron Phosphate battery. Has anyone have experiences with that battery?

It weighs only 900 grams and is relatively small.

Hi Jan,

Many batteries will work if it is the proper size, but some smaller batteries don't hold up to vibration or temperature changes very well. I see you live overseas most likely in Europe. In Europe the same Odyssey battery is called a Hawker. They are the same company.
The Super B5200 sealed battery should work. I went and read about it and it should work, but I have no experience with it here in the US.
